Discovery Green Park is a 12-acre park located in downtown Houston, and one of the city’s newest attractions. The venue features a one-acre lake, amphitheater stage and slope, public art works and gourmet restaurants. Whether you’re looking for a break away from the city or just want to relax and enjoy a concert and other live entertainment, Discovery Green Park offers a wealth of recreational options for visitors year round.
Things to Do at Discovery Green Park
You can spend the entire day at Discovery Green Park and enjoy the beautiful view of the downtown Houston skyline. Jones Lawn is the park’s largest green space, and serves as the premier destination for major sporting events.

Events at Discovery Green Park
All visitors to Discovery Green Park are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets and even small dogs when attending outdoor events. Discovery Green Park is open year round and hosts a number of special events and programs, including:

Discovery Green Park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., but hours for events may vary. Some parts of the park are closed for private events. Public restrooms are located in the Alkek Building, the park’s information center located near the Gateway Foundation and the Andrea and Bill White Promenade. There is no admission fee to enter the park.
